What is this snapping/popping feeling in my ribs? (Photo)

Experienced a snapping/popping feeling in my ribs last night when wiping away residue from my incision. I now have noticed a large vein or muscle ( not sure what it is) from ghd bottom of my breast into my rib case. Most noticeable when I lift my arm . Have added a picture pointing it out. What is this? Is this normal?

Thank you for your question. It appears that you may have an inflammed and clotted vein.  This will resolve over time and if it is tender to touch, then you may want to consider anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen.

It appears that you have Mondor's, which is a clotted vein below the incision line.  This is not uncommon and is usually self limited.  It is commonly treated with warm compresses and anti-inflammatory medications.  Call your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns with them, as they have the ability to examine you if they feel the necessity.

Thank you for your question. This is Mondor's cord, thrombophlebitis, not unusual. It will subside with time. Some warm compressions and NSAIDs will help. Pl talk to your PS before you take any meds.
