Does the scar tissue rule out using filler at the incision site?
Answer: Applying a small amount of filler can minimize appearance of the depression left by scar Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: A drop of filler may work... Depending on your examination, a microdroplet of Silikon-1000 may fill this little indentation. If that doesn't work, scar revision (or doing nothing) are other options. Thanks a lot! Dr Joseph

Answer: Filler Can Be Used Along Columella--By Experienced Injector & Appropriate HA Filler The short answer to the question is an unqestionable "Yes," i.e. filler can be used in the columella region. I personally use it quite frequently in the region as part of elevating the nasal tip when this is required or desired. A couple of caveats are in order, however. This should be done with an HA filler appropriate to this region, injected with the proper technique, and by an experienced injector (this region is definitely not for the hands of novice injectors)--especially since this area has undergone prior surgery in this case, which can alter the anatomy of the underlying vasculature . You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.
