I had 20 units of xeomin put in my forehead and between my brows. AEver since then, I have had persistent migraine headaches and tightness in my forehead and between the brows and behind my right eye I’ve had heavy painful pressure. The doctor who injected me pretty much dismissed what I was going through and said I looked great(even though I hated the results and looked noticeably angry). Thus injection was done almost six months ago.
Answer: Migraines post neurotoxin Hello sincere2710! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. I am so sorry to hear this! In most cases, headaches after neurotoxin injections resolve within a few days. Some patients may experience having headaches that last longer, however, there is not enough evidence or studies that suggest that this is due to neurotoxin injections. Therefore, it's possible to minimize the discomfort from your migraine headaches with the following: taking over the counter pain medications like Tylenol or Advil; staying hydrated daily; use a cold compress to the forehead; or increase physical activity. Additionally, I recommend to try switching neurotoxins and trying a different brand such as Botox or Dysport. I hope this helps!

Answer: See your G.P. +/- Optometrist. Such symptoms in the first days after treatment may reasonably be attributed to the neurotoxin (Xeomin in this case); however, extremely unlikely at six months. It may be an idea to see a general physician/ family practitioner to have a check-up, including reviewing your blood pressure, and do also consider seeing an optometrist (in case your symptoms are related to you needing to wear spectacles/ having a change of visual prescription).

Answer: Addressing Xeomin Side Effects We are so sorry to hear about your disappointing experience and persistent headaches. Xeomin can certainly cause temporary pressure, tightness, and headaches for a few days following injections, however when these symptoms last longer, we typically suspect another source or a combination of causes. Every patient is unique, and it’s very possible that your unique body does not respond well to neurotoxins like Xeomin. This could be one contributor to your symptoms, but we’d highly recommend visiting your doctor to explore other root causes. At our clinic, we offer diagnostics and a wide range of regenerative therapies to patients experiencing undiagnosed chronic pain like headaches. We invite you to learn more about these options on our website. Regarding other facial rejuvenation treatments, if you are hoping to continue, there are several safe, nonsurgical options that you could explore: depending on your goals, you may find better results with dermal fillers, PRP facial treatments, or PDO threads.
