I am filled with regret and frustration with myself. I got stuck in the hot Arizona sun for about 10 minutes, 2 days after microneedling. Have I harmed my skin? So sad.
Answer: Sun exposure post microneedling Hello hellotomorrow3 my name is Melanie I am a Medical Aesthetician at Aesthetic Skin located in Chicago IL. I hope that your skin is in good shape after sun exposure post your microneedling treatment. It is very important to follow post instructions given by your provider this will allow for the skin to heal with the best results. excessive sun exposure after many skin treatments puts you at risk for a negative outcome and down the line another skin concern to treat. Always make sure to protect the skin with SPF and reapplication per instructions on the SPF, wearing a hat and protecting with longer garments. I hope this helps for the future!

Answer: Sun exposure post microneedling treatment Sun exposure is not advised following microneedling treatment to avoid hyperpigmentation or discoloration. Hyperpigmentation can occur when freshly injured skin is exposed to the sun without adequate protection. Not knowing the details of your treatment or your skin's Fitzpatrick type, it can be difficult to predict how your skin would react in this situation. Most likely, you have not harmed your skin; in the event, however, that you have inadvertently created hyperpigmentation, it can be lightened with various procedures and topical skin care products. This response is for educational and informational purposes only and is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment provided by a qualified healthcare provider.

Answer: Sun exposure after Microneedling Hi, I do recommend that sun exposure be minimal for a week post Microneedling treatment . If you are in the sun it is important to wear SPF 50+ with UVA UVB protection, also remember to wear a hat to cover the areas from direct sunlight exposure. If you are noticing any issues after the sun exposure I suggest following up with your provider.

Answer: If there is discoloration and you feel and look as if your skin is burned; it's damaged. Please provide photos. Do not use exfoliating medications, chemicals, or products on the treated areas for at least 1 week. - Is recommended after micro-needling and avoiding sun-exposure for at least 2-3 weeks. In the future please use a medical-grade sun-screen which should be available from the practice that you got micro-needling done.
