Open Rhinoplasty has left my tip very bulbous (Photo)

Question

I had my first nose job 8 months ago. I made it very clear I loved the front of my nose I just wanted the hump on the bridge taken out. The front swelling has remained extremely bulbous and I really miss my old nose. Wondering what I can do to fix this? Is this considered a major revision? The tip as well is very round and hard. Old nose is the last photo.

Your nose will continue to change as it heals for 1-2 years (and sometimes even longer). Unless there is something clearly amiss from your initial surgery, 8 months is still a little early to jump into a revision surgery. Follow up with your surgeon, discuss your concerns with her/him, and give your nose time to reach its final appearance. @drdonyoo

Thank you for your question and photos. Though much of the swelling is reduced within four months, your nose will be in a phase of recovery for at least one year following your rhinoplasty procedure. It is generally suggested to wait until this recovery process is complete to review the final results. If you’re still unsatisfied with your results at that time, a revision rhinoplasty can be considered to change the appearance of the nasal tip. 
Please keep in mind that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support and scar tissue. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to oversee your recovery, discuss any concerns you may have, and suggest the best course of action.

Open rhinoplasty has many benefits but it does at least temporarily result in more swelling to the tip.  Steroid injections can be very useful but swelling can improve for 12-18 months , and in some cases even longer than that.  At 8 months it is too soon to predict the final result. Occasionally revision to remove scar tissue from the tip is necessary.
