2 months post-op. Gathered skin around areola. What is it? (photos)

Question

I am two months after breast augmentation with perioareal mastopexy. I think the scars are healing quite well (mostly on the top side) but i dont know why i have this one wrinkle or gathered skin around left areola. It is just this one spot and it doesn't seem to be typical pucker, more likely a spot which was sewed too intensively? I am trying to massage it so it smoothers a bit that doesnt seem to help. Thank you.

It is still early and likely this will improve with time. Be patient.  Your surgeon may suggest massage or tape as well.

During a periareolar mastopexy the skin has to be gathered to make the opening smaller by suturing the large Circle of skin to the smaller areola. This gathering cause pleats which is what you are seeing.  These almost always go away with time as the implant stretches the periareolar tissue out.  I would wait a few more months for that to occur but of course follow up with your plastic surgeon to discuss possible treatments if they do not resolve.
