Question

I have a very narrow smile and dark corners apear in my mouth when i smile. You can't see my teeth in the back. Can i get a wider smile? And what would be the best way for that? I have attached a photo. Want a wide smile without dark corners. Have good theeth and I am 28 years old.

Thank you for your question. You may be a candidate for a corner lip lift because the corner lift can subtly raise and even the overall mouth contour. I suggest that you consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.

You would get a nice improvement with lip fillers. These fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good to create a full lip. Nova threads can be used to improve lift and shape. Implants or fat are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  Careful placement of dermal fillers into your lips and corners of the mouth should help improve upon the degree of "darkness" seen in the corners of your mouth.  As for your teeth it appears that the upper "arch" is narrow preventing viewing the back teeth.  This is a normal anatomic variant and nothing needs to be done.  Hope this helps.

OMG. You have a huge smile. You have a narrow dental arch. I really don't think you want people examining your molars when you smile.If you're talking about the darkness on your skin, that's a shadow and is light dependent......Concentrating on a single extreme expression is  tough because people don't notice the same things you do   What you don't want to do is make an improvement when you smile and look worse in repose.
