Lip fillers outside border of lip. Is this how it is supposed to look? (Photo)

Question

I ha my lips done 8 days ago and the filler is outside the border. The last time my lips were done it did not look like this. Is this how it is supposed to look? I want to get it dissolve. How long after dissolving will it be until I had get them redone? Thanks

Personally, I think your lips look youthful with well defined Cupids bow and philtral columns. I wouldn't change anything. Sometimes patients focus on adding volume to the lips when well defined anatomy looks more natural. Of course, you can have it reversed if you are not happy with the results. I would recommend waiting a few weeks.

It can take 1-2 weeks for final results with fillers. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. It can take series of treatments. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Your lips look swollen. The borders were injected for more definition. You may have been over injected but only time will tell. I would wait 2-4 weeks after your injection to make a decision. If you are still unhappy you can have some removed if your injector used a Hyaluronic Acid filler. If they used another type filler it will have to wear off. Best Wishes, Maurice Vick MD

I agree your lips need a little more time and I also think they look great. Swelling can last for a couple weeks, so just be patient.

Overall, I actually think your lips look quite lovely. They appear symmetrical with nice definition around the border and no major lumps or irregularities. They do not appear "overdone" to me. The lips tend to be one area that swells more than other areas after injections, so I would wait at least 2-4 weeks before considering dissolving the filler. You may just need a little more time for the swelling to go down.
