Wearing sunglasses after rhinoplasty. Is this normal?

My doctor advised I don't wear sunglasses until a year after my surgery. It has been a year since my rhinoplasty and I haven't dared to put sunglasses on. But every time I try, I feel slight pressure and pain within few seconds or a minute of wearing them. Is this normal?
