I have had tear troughs for some time, nothing major. My dermatologist thinks I could benefit from under eye filler. She charges around 650 for half a syringe which I guess is fair (her nurses have their under eyes are done and it looks so good and natural) What is the risk long term for filler under the eyes?Is going to a dermatologist a good idea, even if they are experienced. I am just concerned about it causing more issues for me than being a nice fix. Attached are some photos of them sans any makeup
Answer: Under eye fillers at 21 Thank you for your question. Choosing to have under eye fillers at your age is a personal choice and totally up to you. There is always a rick of side effects but usually side effects are temporary and mild like bruising and swelling. By and large, there are no severe long term affects. You can discuss possible risks and your concerns more with your dermatologist to determine if you think it's the best treatment for you.

Answer: Under Eye Filler Thank you for your question. People are increasingly addressing their cosmetic concerns at a younger age. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are temporary and reversible and can be placed in the under eye area. Please see an expert injector. All the best!

Answer: Filler work well in younger patients If there are tear troughs, they can be treated in relatively young patients. In many ways, this is a very good age as the rest of the facial contours and complexion are still quite youthful and the tear trough hollowing is out of keeping with the rest of the face. Just ensure an experiences injector who will fill conservatively.

Answer: Improving Under Eye with Fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk), Fraxel, Microneedling/PRP I often recommend my younger patients to start early with preventative and cosmetic treatments. For under eye, a combination approach will give the most improvement. Fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. We use PRP and stem cells there often. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for your short and long term goals. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Are fillers for the undereye area a good idea for 21 year old with tear troughs? Hi, So here is the scoop on putting hyaluronic acid in the eye area. Sometimes it works out great and sometimes it works out terribly. The problem is that the anatomy in that area is not always the best to receive filler and that is when the outcome can be worse than the problem itself. Yes, it can be removed, but with removal comes its own consequences to the skin in that area. So really you need to weigh the benefit with the potential risk. To me, your troughs do not look that bad. WIll they get worse over time? Maybe. But I think you could always make the decision to try filling them as doing it sooner rather than later has no real benefit in terms of prevention. I would also suggest that you look into carboxytherapy, as it looks like you have some discoloration under the eyes and that may be contributing to an illusion that the tear troughs are deeper than they are. CO2 under the eyes is very safe and low risk. It works to increase the circulation under the eyes an reducing puffiness and darkness caused by stagnant blood flow. It is also something that is preventative for future aging under the eyes. Best of luck Dr. Jamé
