I had tear trought done with a surgeon couple weeks ago. The surgeon has done my tear trought 3years ago and it was fantastastic. this time i feel lumpy, it created eye bags plus it seems to be too low the fillers. I am going to see my plastic surgeon in few days she is very helpful to try to solve it and she said she will fix it as is not a problem but I would like anothers doctors opinion. I read so many horros storries about the disolver etc:(

Answer: What to do about a badly filled tear trough? Hi, I find that filler in the tear trough can either be great or disastrous and sometimes worse outcome than the problem you started with. Yes you can use hyaluronidase to remove the filler, but that also has its drawbacks of leaving the skin looking aged where it was used. I think it is a good sign that your surgeon is willing to fix the problem though and you can definitely discuss the pros and cons of treating it vs leaving it alone. There are other options to deal with the underlying reasons behind poor looking undereyes. Tightening the skin, improving the circulation and cautious use of filler are all part of those options. But you are a classic case of sometimes filler works out great in that area and sometimes it doesn't even with a practitioner with good experience. Best of luck Dr. Jamé

Answer: Bad tear trough Dear Tatka2809 Thank you for your question. This complication is common and usually results when certain hydrophilic dermal fillers are used in this area. The best option for you is to dissolve it with Hyaluronidase. It is a safe procedure and I have not encountered any complications with it. I usually inject an amount consistent with the type of filler injected and the amount injected. If the patient is still unsatisfied, I have them return for further injections. I try not to be overly aggressive in removing the filler. The end result is a patient who may come anyway from 1-3 visits and they are all pleased and have returned for repeat injections. Hope this helps All the best, Dr. Manios
