Vertical forehead creases. Will filler help? (Photo)

Question

Hi! I have recently developed two vertical forehead creases. Over the past year, I have done several rounds of botox and microneedling. While these have helped with skin texture and not allowing them to get too much worse they still exist at rest. If I touch them I can feel the dent in my forehead; kind of like carving a line in a piece of wood. Can fillers be used? I really would like these to be improved. I think those vertical lines in your forehead would respond very nicely if treated with a hyaluronic acid filler.  In my opinion, one of the lighter, smoother fillers (such as Volbella or Vollure) would blend in the most seamlessly.  Definitely treatable!

To best determine if fillers would be helpful to treat your forehead lines, we recommend a consultation to evaluate in person.  Often times, Botox and skincare, while they are still beneficial, they still may not be enough to treat those persistent lines or folds.  Typically we use a filler with hyaluronic acid in them to fill these lines.  Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in your body an is designed to help plump the skin, so when injected into the fold or line it will draw water to fill in these areas. If you are unhappy with your results for any reason, it can also be reversed.  Hope this helps and best wishes to you.

Thanks for your question and the photos. 
The difference between these vertical lines and lines along "normal" skin creases is that BOTOX or other toxins will have no effect. If you find that your skin improvement techniques have not had sufficient results then the next step would certainly be a filler. This is a relatively high risk area and so I would strongly suggest you find an experienced plastic surgeon to discuss your options in person.

It's hard to say without evaluating you in person. In general, yes a combination of Botox/Dysport and fillers combined with skin resurfacing and good skincare (including a retinol) will improve the appearance of the forehead considerably. The best thing to do is schedule an in person consultation with a local aesthetic physician to determine an appropriate treatment plan for your cosmetic concerns.
