What is the best type of liposuction to remove fat from the inside of the knees and the inner thighs?

I routinely treat these areas with Vaser ultrasound liposuction and/or Smart Lipo laser.  Both laser and Vaser liposuction use energy to break up the fat during a liposuction procedure. This makes it easier to remove the fat and allows finer detailing. Either of them would be effective on the knees and thighs, as long as your practitioner uses microcannulas. The most important part of the process is to find a board-certified dermatologist who has expertise in contouring the legs with liposuction. 

The type of technology used for liposuction is not the main issue regarding quality of results. Who does the liposuction is the critical element. Both Smart Lipo (laser based) or Vaser lipo (ultrasound based) if done correctly can give you the results you expect. Make sure your surgeon shows you similar cases before and after pictures to see if the results match your expectations. 

Laser liposuction, SLIM liposuction or SMART liposuction, uses laser light at a wavelength specific for either water or fat to break up the fat making it easier to remove.  Vaser uses ultrasound to accomplish the same thing.

For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. Thanks for your question, both modalities are very good to use for the inner thigh and knees.  Inner thigh skin is some of the thinnest skin in the body and will require extra time to each its final end point.  Laser will help tighten skin as will Vaser.  Both are great additions to liposculpture with microcannulas.  At the end of the day, experience of the surgeon is most important when dealing with these areas.

The laser used in SmartLipo also reduces your risks for bleeding and infection, which can significantly minimize postoperative complications. I completely understand your confusion. Lipo today is best done with tumescent local anesthesia right in the office setting, and does not require an in-hospital procedure or general/regional anesthesia. There are multiple energy sources that we can use to help break up, destroy or "melt" the fat cells before we suction out the material, including laser (Smart Lipo, Pro Lipo, Cool Lipo), ultrasound (Vaser), water energy, or vibration (VibraSat, Tickle Lipo). All of these are just variations of a theme - using energy to emulsify the fat before the suction, and all work in similar fashion. Although I have all of these available in our office, I prefer the vibration approach for 2 main reasons - there is no heat component as there is with both laser and ultrasound, so there is no risk of skin burn or skin injury, and it provides the versatility of treating small, delicate areas for fine contouring, as well as removing larger bulks or volumes in a much faster manner, with less trauma to the surrounding tissues. Hello,Around the knees, in particular,  there are not much fat excess and therefore I prefer to use Tumescent Liposuction. Laser Liposuction and Vaser are great techniques to do liposuction but the cannulas are quite large in comparison.We use 1-2mm cannula for tumescent liposuction. Thank you for your question. Yes, I can understand how it can be confusing as to the best form of liposuction to be performed. This is best answered during an in-person consultation. Things that are taken into consideration are your goals, the degree of skin laxity, the location of the fat to be reduced, etc. I generally use BodyTite in combination with Tickle Lipo on the knees. This provides for fat reduction along with significant skin tightening. Every situation is different. Some patients only need BodyTite and others only Tickle Lipo.
