Which type of liposuction causes the lumpy botched stomach look?

I’m getting vaser liposuction and I’m scared when I gain weight in the future, my stomach fat will be visibly lumpy like in this picture. Which type of Liposuction causes this? Or is just the surgeons technique?

Thank you for your question.  Any form of liposuction can cause lumpiness however this normally only lasts a few months and with MLD massages and massages your self this can subside.  Vaser Liposuction reduces the risks of lumpiness as it melts the fat first therefore turning it into a liquid before being removed.  Please do have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.  All The Best

This looks as if you need a major revision and even then it may not help.  it may require fat grafting and tummy tuck or scar cutting for improvement.
If you are unhappy with your results please speak to your physician and ensure he was a full body VASER HD liposuction physciain wtih expensive experience in body shaping and not just traditional fat reduction.  At this point you should be using compression, RF treatments like venus legacy / exilis ultra / inmode forma or contoura and lymphatic massage to get you through healing.   We always add shock wave therapy such as cellutone, z wave, and eclipse evive to help prvent scar tissue formation and ensure an even and smooth result. It will take 6-12 months to see the final outcome.   If you are unhappy you can get a revision procedure by an expert in VASER HD lipo.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Uneven liposuction can result in lumps, especially of the abdomen where any small irregularities are magnified.Care of the surgeon and experience will minimize this.Further discussion with your/a plastic surgeon is recommended.

The lumpiness you’re showing in this photo, or contour-irregularity as we call it, is caused by insufficient attention to detail, trying to perform the case too quickly, using cannulas that are too large in an attempt to remove the fat very quickly and with less effort, the failure to use a series of different sized cannulas to taper out the result for the best result, and the use of only one or two injection sites.
I strongly recommend scheduling a consultation with a Board-eligible or Board-certified plastic surgeon to develop your treatment plan. He or she will be well trained in avoiding just such a complication.

You post an excellent question. The answer is that any form of liposuction can cause a botched lumpy outcome. These outcomes are a direct reflection of who does the procedure and their lack of skill and or Experience.If I was to pinpoint one device or technique used it is without question the use of VASER.This is power assisted liposuction. It is a two staged picnic. The first part of the procedure includes breaking up the fat with an ultrasound probe. After that traditional liposuction is done. During the ultrasound part of the treatment the provider does not have any indication of what is being accomplished. This is truly a blind procedure. The impact of the ultrasound probe treatment is only realized after the fat has been removed. If the ultrasound part of the treatment is done incorrectly the surgeon will have no idea until the fat gets taken out at which point it can conceivably be uneven. There’s nothing inherently wrong with using this device. It can be a powerful tool that can give great results and be useful in certain situations.It can make the operating time shorter and can be helpful in creating very intense definition work. This definition work when done incorrectly is exactly what the picture you posted shows. Intense uneven contours from a lack of skill.A good analogy for the use of VASER may be giving a turbo Porsche to a 16-year-old learning how to drive. It’s a great car for drivers who can handle that equipment.My practice is devoted exclusively to liposuction and fat transfer procedures and has been for the last decade. I’ve used all major liposuction devices on the market including VASER. My personal preference is the use of power assisted liposuction but I don’t think the equipment makes all that much difference. There simply the tools I prefer to work with. Unfortunately too many plastic surgeons try to promote themselves by selling tools and technologies as being close to magical.The outcomes of liposuction are 100% operator dependent. The only variable that matters for the individual patient is who does the procedure. The variations in outcomes is massive. This single procedure has the biggest difference in outcomes of any surgical procedure I’ve ever seen. Almost every plastic surgeon can get through a tummy tack with moderate competence. The same cannot be said for liposuction. Getting consistent high-quality results and having the ability to assess patients and accurately predict with great certainty what each person is out, will look like requires years of experience and having performed thousands of cases. I speak from experience. When I compare my results early in my career there is simply no comparison to what I am capable of delivering today. This is after having performed more than 7000 liposuction procedures.In the end your job is to find the right provider. Your best use of research time is learning about providers and not about liposuction equipment. There’s too much biased information from south promoting providers that confuse the general public. There’s simply no solid neutral place to learn and this includes real self. After 13 years of medical training and 7000 cases and practice I’m still learning how to perfect this single procedure. There’s no way someone outside our specialty can learn what the best equipment is by reading posts especially posted by individuals selling their services to learn what makes a difference.If found number of plastic surgeons are excellent and liposuction. Others don’t care for the procedure and consistently get week results. I would venture to say that 99% of plastic surgeons do liposuction on a regular basis but that unfortunately does not correlate to high-quality outcomes on a consistent basis.The following is a list of general guidelines to help patients find the best provider for this procedure.look for plastic surgeons will have a minimum of five years of practice but preferably 10 to 15 years. look for plastic surgeons or excited about doing liposuction and like doing the procedure. have in person consultations and avoid the temptation of doing virtual consultations. The outcome of this procedure will affect you every day for the rest of your life. Please invest the appropriate time and effort to meet with surgeons and have a proper examination. look at lots and lots of before and after pictures. if possible ask the surgeon to show the results of the 10 consecutive cases. some plastic surgeons may be reluctant to doing this but in a perfect world you want to see average results not simply their best results. an experienced provider should be able to easily show at least $.50 before and after pictures. in our practice our photo collection literally has thousands of before and after pictures.Because we specialize in a single procedure we have the ability to find before and after pictures that are close to identical to each individual unique patient. By showing results of someone with a similar body type, size and shape patients have a very accurate idea of what their individual results will look like.Don’t look for the providers will have the most number of reviews. Providers who have more than 100 reviews on any single website are manipulating reviews by encouraging patients sometimes with incentives to write positive reviews. Unsolicited organic reviews are much more rare.Read the comments of what patients have to say. If patients are writing reviews before they’ve had the procedure then rest assured that that provider is pushing patients to write reviews potentially as part of a financial reward. If patients consistently describe the same experience then that is probably a very telling sign. Unfortunately unhappy patients are less likely to write reviews than happy ones. Read all the negative reviews and realize that there are probably more patients who had similar experiences we didn’t post. Avoid providers who have aggressive social media campaigns or paid advertising.The most talented plastic surgeons have thriving practices based on word-of-mouth only and do not spend time on social media To promote their practices.Avoid corporate cosmetic surgery clinics like Sonobello. These clinics subcontract out cosmetic surgery and their screening process for the who they hire Makes the chance of getting a rogue player too high. Surgeons who work for these outfits typically cannot sustain their own successful practice. There are exceptions and there are some very talented surgeons who are employed in corporate clinics but in general I would stick with independent private practice providers.Personally I prefer to do liposuction with my patients awake using local anesthesia and mild sedation. I find that my results are improved, there’s better safety, faster recovery and cost savings to my patient. The primary reason is my ability to have the patient hold different anatomic positions throughout the procedure which greatly helps me get better results.I would guess that the majority of plastic surgeons do most major liposuction cases using general anesthesia. There’s nothing wrong with that and the form of anesthesia is not nearly as important as the skill of the surgeon.there’s also nothing incorrect or wrong about using it VASER though personally I do believe that that specific equipment Has caused more horrendous disfigurement than other forms of liposuction. Simply because it has the potential for being very effective. The goal of liposuction is not to remove all the fat. People seem to think that more is better but this is a faulty way of approaching body contouring. Hi and welcome to our forum!The photo you present is due to patient selection and operator technique. Patients undergoing liposuction should not have significantly lax skin preoperatively. It will become worse! Overdone liposuction may also result in this appearance. Be sure to choose a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in liposuction techniques.Best wishes...
