Should my tummy tuck incision be looking like this 10 days out? (photos)

Hi, Had my tummy tuck on the 20th of this month. I am slightly worried due to what appears to be some separation in the incision? I have been instructed to wear only a binder, and a folded bandage over the wound.

you very much for your question and photographs. It is not uncommon to have
slight skin separation during the first few weeks after an abdominoplasty. That
being said, from your picture, your incision looks red, showing signs of a
potential infection or delayed wound healing. I recommend following up with
your operating surgeon as soon as possible. He/she best knows your individual situation
and can assess your recovery progression. After the examination, carefully
follow your doctor’s advice.

At 10 days post op it is not uncommon to have small wound separation keep the area dry and covered and continue to follow up with your PS.Best wishes.

bloodlure. I appreciate your concern, however it is still early in your recovery from Tummytuck surgery. It does appear that you may be experiencing delayed wound healing and close follow up by your plastic surgeon is needed.  Diligent wound care should ease your healing process.  Follow up with your surgeon as soon as possible. From your photographs it certainly seems that you should call your doctor immediately. They can instruct you on how to manage this area and assess whether you need other intervention.

Thank you for your photo. Some separation is quite normal in the first 10-20 days after surgery , make sure you cover it will and i preferably use only dry products like Teccasol powder to stimulate the healing process. Best of luck
