hello,If you have loose abdominal skin and a separated diastasis recti muscle (abdominal muscle), the tummy tuck would excess a section of the scarred (fibrotic) tissue which occured as a result of the liposuction. It would also flatten out some of the irregular areas. In some cases, I would also do fat grafting to fill in highly irregular areas that would likely not resolve with the Tummy Tuck procedure. Alternatively, you could just do a minimum of fat grafting to help resolve 'some' of the irregularity. So, you are absolutely on the right track of thinking about this! Definitely best to consult with a surgeon who is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Take care and good luck!Ricardo L Rodriguez MDBaltimore, Maryland
Hello. Great question. Thank you for your picture. Based on your image, you can benefit from a tummy tuck procedure. Please schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed surgical plan to achieve your desired results.
Thank you for your question.Tummy Tuck can certainly improve the post liposuction deformities of your abdomen. I would not advise any etching at this time, because you already have a lot of scarring / fibrosis. You will need to have an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon examine you and address your concerns. All The Best !
Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. I have performed tummy tucks in patients for this exact reason and it can help significantly. It is important to determine if you have enough laxity in your abdomen for a tummy tuck. The only way to determine this is with an in-person examination. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Creamy77 Sorry you are having these issues and physical examination would be needed to provide a more comprehensive answer and recommendation. However, it appears that most of the contour irregularities can be greatly improved and even eliminated with a tummy tuck, assuming there is enough redundant skin after your pregnancy. I am not a big fan of abdominal etching specifically because of complications similar to yours, significant skin irregularities and dimpling from thickened scar tissue just beneath the skin. Also, it appears that you have little excess fat of the abdominal region and etching would not be advised. When you are ready, consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon in our area to discuss the best options for you. Good luck.
Hello dear! Thanks for the pictures and provided information as well.Based on your photos, you are a great candidate for a tummy tuck, to improve your skin.In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.Good luck :)
Thank you for your photos. A tummy tuck can definitely improve the unevenness of your skin if pulling on your skin tight right now also improves the skin. If it does not improve significantly when you pull on your own skin, then you may additional liposuction or fat grafting to smooth out the areas as well as a tummy tuck. I would advise against abdominal etching at the time of a tummy tuck since the skin will settle into a different position as you heal and the etching may begin to move and appear "off" as the skin settles. Abdominal etching will also place a higher risk of skin injury by decreasing the blood supply to the abdominal skin flap. To be safe, you can always have the etching done 6 months after your tummy tuck. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
Thank you for posting your photo with your interesting question. It appears that you have some abdominal unevenness which would greatly improve with a tummy tuck by pulling on the skin and removing the excess with a low bikini incision. You may require some liposuction to smooth the irregularities. The abdominal muscle laxity, which can occur after pregnancy, can be tightened during the tummy tuck. I recommend that you have a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is experienced with tummy tucks. At the time of your consultation, you will have an abdominal examination, discuss your goals, have all of your questions answered to your satisfaction and review dozens of the plastic surgeon's before and after tummy tuck results. Best wishes, Richard Wellington Swift, M.D.
Sorry to hear and see that you didn't get the results you were hoping for. First of all, "Fibrosis" is just another name for scaring. When we do liposuction, all of the tunnels made by removing the fat will hopefully scar closed. However, some people make more scar tissue than others. Sometimes it is from poorly done liposuction or just liposuctioning too close to the skin. Also, certain types of liposuction will cause more scar tissue than others. This true in the case of Laser Lipo and Ultrasonic Lipo. Both of these machines heat/burn your tissues which creates more scar tissue. It is often a very difficult thing to fix. I see a Lot of patients for Revision liposuction and tummy tucks from poorly performed surgeries. These patients are frequently those who choose Cut Rate liposuction by "Cosmetic" surgeons, or those who fly to places like Miami or the DR where it is very cheap! Sometimes you get what you pay for. As far as fixing this, the best thing is a tummy tuck I have done this many times for patients with this problem. It usually makes it 90%+ better. Sometimes I add on Fat Grafting to the dents or liposuction to the bulges where needed. DiscoverTheBeauty.com

I encourage you to visit with your surgeon for an evaluation. Compression, especially when active can help. Be sure to closely follow your surgeon's post op instructions for optimal results.
The purpose of compression is to help manage swelling and to support healing tissues. Your surgeon will advise when you can stop wearing the compression garment. I encourage patients to wear it for about three to four weeks. Some find it helpful to wear during recovery when they are on their...
Hello. Great question. Congratulations on your procedure. There is no set time frame for drain to be removed it depends on how much fluid you are still draining. Keep following your surgeon's post op instructions as he is the one who knows your procedure best. Best of luck with your recovery.
