When addressing smile lines and forehead wrinkles, there are several effective treatment options available:Dermal Fillers: For smile lines (nasolabial folds), dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid-based products (e.g., Juvederm, Restylane) can add volume and smooth out these creases. They provide immediate results and typically last between 6 to 18 months, depending on the product used.Botox or Dysport: These neuromodulators are effective for treating dynamic forehead wrinkles caused by muscle movement. They work by temporarily relaxing the muscles, reducing the appearance of lines and preventing them from deepening. Results usually last 3 to 4 months.Laser Resurfacing: Treatments like fractional laser or CO2 laser can improve skin texture and stimulate collagen production, helping to reduce both fine lines and deeper wrinkles over time. These procedures require some downtime for recovery.Microneedling: This treatment involves creating tiny punctures in the skin to stimulate collagen production, which can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It can be combined with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) for enhanced results.Chemical Peels: Light to medium-depth chemical peels can exfoliate the skin, improve texture, and promote collagen production, helping to soften the appearance of smile lines and forehead wrinkles.Topical Treatments: Retinoids and peptides in skincare products can help improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines over time with consistent use.A combination of these treatments might be recommended based on the depth and severity of your wrinkles, as well as your skin type and goals. Consulting with a qualified dermatologist or aesthetic practitioner can help determine the most suitable approach for you.
Hello, I'm Lauren, the aesthetics injector at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. It sounds like you're dealing with a common concern that many patients experience. For smile lines (nasolabial folds), dermal fillers can be a great option. The filler is injected into the skin to restore volume and smooth out deeper folds. For forehead wrinkles, Botox or Dysport are highly effective. These neurotoxins relax the muscles responsible for creating the lines, resulting in a smoother, more relaxed appearance. However, it’s always best to consult with a skilled provider who can assess your unique needs and goals. They can recommend a personalized treatment plan just for you.
Thank you for your inquiry! By your photos, it looks like you would be a great candidate for a neurotoxin treatment such as botox, dysport, daxxify etc. A neurotoxin will help reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I recommend scheduling a consult appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon like myself or certified aesthetician so we can create a plan that is best for you and your goals!
I recommend a combination of treatments to address smile lines and forehead wrinkles effectively. Here are some of the best options:For treating smile lines and forehead wrinkles, two popular options are:Botox: This relaxes the muscles, effectively reducing the appearance of both smile lines and forehead wrinkles.PDO Thread Lifting: This procedure lifts and tightens the skin, also stimulating collagen production for a smoother look over time. These treatments can be customized based on your specific needs, so I recommend consulting with a qualified professional to find the best option for you!
The best options for forehead lines are Botox and skin resurfacing, such as chemical peels, laser, or microneedling. Filler is not an ideal option for forehead lines. However for smile lines, it can help decrease the look but if the main issue is from a lack of check volume resulting in deeper nasolabial folds, you would ideally need to place filler there first.
Best treatment for smile lines and forehead is still botulinum. There are 5 types of botulinum available in the US, starting with the very first one Botox to Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau and Daxxify. All stay in your muscles about the months. But, people who start early with injections will find that their facial muscles get weaker over time and they find the product last longer. So, if you're in your 20s and 30s is best to start with what we call baby Botox about twice a year. Hope this helps!
At least from the photos provided, the at-rest wrinkles currently present on the forehead can be elevated and smoothed using a low viscosity, malleable, cohesive HA filler. Since these wrinkles were etched into the skin by the movement many times daily for many years of the underlying forehead muscle, the addition of Botox would be an appropriate choice for diminishing the rate of appearance going forward of new horizontal "worry" lines. The smile lines can be addressed in two ways. There appears to be some volume deficit in the midface cheek regions, which can be addressed using a robust HA volumizing filler. This would not only contour a more desirable, feminine Ogee Curve, but would secondarily help to improve the under-eye regions and the smile lines. If only the smile lines are of concern, then the use of a low viscosity, malleable, cohesive HA filler here, too, directly for treating the smile lines would be an appropriate approach. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler expert. Hope this helps and best of luck.
Fillers are a great option to improve the appearance of smile lines. The treatment is done in the office with results lasting about a year. For the forehead lines you can consider Botox to help smooth them. The results from treatment last approximately three to four months. You can also consider treatments such as Morpheus8 to improve overall skin tone and texture.
The smile lines around the lower face can be softened with filler injections into the marionette folds. The filler can also be used to give your chin more symmetry and make it more rounded. With regards to the forehead, these lines seem to be there at rest in which case Toxin could soften them but may not completely get rid of them. You would benefit from modalities which regenerate your collagen. SOme examples are microneedling with or without radiofrequency, and smooth and mesh PDO threads.
Dear rachresn,The smile line photo doesn't show much in the way of lines. Perhaps because you are not smiling? The forehead wrinkles are most often treated with one of the Botox like products, which generally last about 3 months. Good luck!
