The dr didnt know I have contact dermatitis and used Mastiol glue. How do you drs,treat it. I have been using today benadryl and 0.1% triamcinole Acetonide Cream. The rash is very red not itching but Im in my compression bra putting gauze all around the bottom. Can I get a steroid injection or just use the cream. Will this affect my healing. Its 7 days. My implants were 22 yrs old. Had en bloc and total capsullectomy with a breast lift. I

Answer: Breast rash This is an unfortunate complication, but so far it looks like you are doing the right things. Benadryl and topical steroids.(triamcinolone) I prefer not to use oral steroids or injections unless it can be avoided because it will slow the way the scars heal. However, there may come a point that this is needed, such as open blisters that are getting worse and if the redness is spreading further and further, sometimes the oral streeoid will decrease those symptoms. You will have to talk to your doctor about it because there is wound healing risk with doing that. So, if you can tolerate the itching, don't worry so much about the redness as it will get better in a week or so. Hang in there, it will get better!

Answer: Mastisol contact dermatitis Sorry to hear about this, but yes, an allergy to Mastisol skin adhesive is definitely something we see from time to time. I usually encourage soap & water washes, and then a topical steroid called, "Temovate." That tends to knock it down within a few days. Best wishes.
