Transplanted hairs still didn't shed. Is this a concern?

Some patients may not have their transplanted hairs shed after surgery. It is rare but it can happen. If you are concerned see your doctor for an exam.

No, it's rarely a cause for concern provided you have done a good job with post op care and getting rid of crusts.Not all hairs shed after 3 weeks - although most do!

Generally 10% of patients never shed hair completely after hair transplant.  However, we see more and more patients who never shed hair after a hair transplant thanks to the new method of SERIAL EXTRACTION AND PLACEMENT METHOD in which we remove grafts by FUE method in smaller sessions and transplant them.  Then we extract more grafts and transplant those. This way we can minimize the time that grafts will stay out of body and surivival of the grafts. 

This can happen in some cases but if you are concerned, a follow up with your doctor is the best thing to do to evaluate this.

Usually after hair transplant the hair will fall off after three weeks and gradually grow in after four months. However there is a very small percentage of people where the hair will continue to grow and will not fall off. 

About 5% of people will not shed after a hair transplant and will grow their recipient hair quickly. At times, grafts hold on to their hair for longer than the shedding period but if there is no growth from these hairs, they will shed once the new hair comes in.
