Can we wear helmet after hair transplant?

Hi doctors. I have a question. Can we wear helmet after transplant? If not.then how many days ? Dose wearing helmet for 2 hours daily will effect hair ?hair loss? Please help me with advice.

You can wear a helmet after surgery but always check with your doctor for a proper exam and recommendations.  Each surgery or patient may have their unque issues and circumstances.

Typically I tell my patients that they need to wait 10 days before placing helmets back on the head.You also need to be taking preventative measures to make sure you slow down the hair loss process.

Yes, you can wear a helmet the day after the surgery without any problem. However, you need to pay attention not to press too hard on the grafts during the first 48 hours.

It is inportant to check with your surgeon regarding specific advice on wearing a helmet. Wearing a helmet is generally fine after 12 days to 14 days.Every surgeon has slightly different advice and it partly depends on how good of a job the patient does with post op care.

If you had FUE, you can wear a helmet after the crusts (scabs) have been off for 1 week. Make sure that the helmet does not rub on the recipient grafts. If you had strip surgery, the same rule applies but make sure that the helmet does not rub on the wound.

You can start wearing a loose hat a day after the procedure. However for a hard helmet type hat, usually we suggest to wait for at least three weeks or until you are completely healed.
