I got tear trough filler a few days ago, and the immediate results looked only slightly better. Now, it looks as if nothing even happened. Did the doctor do right in under filling, or did she not fill correctly? Do I need more? She was really pushing PRP but I opted for Vollure instead. I don’t know what to think but I’m now very unhappy.
Answer: Improving Under Eye / Tear Trough with Injectable Fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk) -- add Lasers, Microneedling/PRP Fillers like Belotero, Volbella, and Restylane Silk are good for improving under the eyes, but keep in mind that a combination approach will give the most improvement. My patients try to get non-surgical treatments to avoid surgery, so we use fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP and stem cells. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Under eye filler Under eye filler can help improve shadowing due to hollowing under the eyes. It does not correct pigmentation that you may have in this area, but by improving the hollowing it can make applying coverup easier. It is difficult to tell from only the front view if you may need more filler to achieve an optimal result. Also, since it has only been 4 days, I would wait anywhere from 2-4 weeks before adjusting, as there is still swelling and the results might change. It is important to follow up with the original doctor and express your concerns.

Answer: Under eye-vollure Hello and thank you for question. I am sorry to hear you do not like the result of your filler. Looking at the photos, there is improvement of the hollowing. Give the filler at least 1 week to settle. If you are still unhappy, return to your provider and possibly get more filler placed. The under eyes are very easy to overfill, so this must be done slowly. PRP with microneedling will address darkness and tighten the skin under the eye, which may further improve your results. Be sure you are going to a board certified provider to discuss all options. Good Luck to you!

Answer: Undereye filler results Without seeing a photo or evaluating you in person, it's hard to determine if you were a good candidate for undereye filler treatment. I prefer to use Restylane when treating the undereyes. It works nicely for undereye dark circles caused by volume loss and hollowing. It also helps with prominent tear troughs and is good for smoothing the eyelid cheek junction in patients with undereye bags.

Answer: Tear troughs Hi there! Thanks for your question. I can see a definite improvement in the hollowness under your eyes. I tell my patients that when we use filler under the eyes, it may settle and need another "top up" to reach near full correction. I never fill to 100% correction because your body will also start to generate some collagen from the procedure and you may look overfilled if that happens. It also accounts for any swelling day to day that you might have. What I see now is that the genetically darker skin under your eyes (almost all of us have this) needs to be addressed. I usually recommend starting with a great eye cream that targets pigment. My favorite is the TNS Eye Repair by SkinMedica. If that doesn't do the trick, then we can look at some other treatments like microneedling, PRP, and peels that are safe for your skin tone in order to lighten up! Best, @DrKatNP.trilogy
