Massage filler lump on lip border? Are all lumps from filler actually filler?

Question

I had .2 ML of Vollure injected to my lips. I had bumps on the injection sites and one sore lump on the inside of my mouth. I am hearing mixed reviews as to whether to massage or not and am weary with the little bumps on my border making the border look less defined by doing this? As for the lump on the inside that hurts, could that be something other than filler, like blood?

Thank you for sharing your excellent question and I am sorry that your current results have not been what you anticipated.  If it has been over 2-3 weeks since treatment, massage is unlikely to help much with any filler deposits and dissolving the filler will be required.  If you only recently had the injections done then your results should soften and mature with gentle pressure.  Unfortunately without photographs it is difficult to offer definite advice.  The lump on the inside of the mouth may be a deeper set bruise or small hematoma which should resolve spontaneously given enough time.  Sounds like you should revisit your injector to discuss your concerns.

Thanks for the question.  Can you include a photograph?  When was the filler?
Lumps can be due to uneven injection of filler.  They can also be due to granulomas and rarely due to infection or hematoma.  It is difficult to determine this without the above information. 
A consultation with a board certified injector is best to determine the cause and management of your lumps.  I hope this helps.
