Can I use the TCA peel on my legs? (Photo)

Hey guys. In desperate need of a answer. Whenever I go the dermatologist , my questions cannot be answer so I decided to come here to get real answers . I bought a tca peel (15%) to use on my legs . I have hyper pigmentation but , it mainly affects the right leg . Things that may cause these marking are ; when insect bites constant itches triggers constant scratching and I have a big mark only the back of my leg since 11 now I'm 26 . Please help summer is coming and I would love to wear a dress

Hi renee730. TCA peels do come in a variety of strengths depending upon why they are being used and where they are being applied. A 40% is a strong dose. The surface skin can often turn brown after a chemical peel. Once the skin peels, the underlying skin will be a normal color. In our office, we recommend application of Melarase creams to help reduce the onset of discoloration of the skin. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

All chemical peels have risk. Acne scars require deeper chemical peels to achieve efficacy. In our office, we recommend application of Melarase creams prior to chemical peeling to reduce the chance of surface discoloration. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
