I’m 6 weeks out and I have a different nose right to left. I had a septoplasty on the left side along with bridge reduction, tip refinement, and a hanging columella correction. My original nose was not completely symmetrical but almost. I am starting to think it will stay this way? I haven’t seen improvement on this front in weeks.
Answer: Rhinoplasty recovery You are still early in your recovery period and the nose is expected to be quite swollen at this point. The swelling during this time is rarely symmetric. One side will always resolve more quickly than the other. The majority of the swelling will resolve in 3-6 months, and will continue to resolve as your nose heals for up to 1-2 years. You have not reached your final shape as the nose will continue to heal and reduce in size for up to a year. Once it does reach its final shape you may be more pleased with the appearance of your nose.

Answer: Asymmetry post rhinoplasty Hi there. Thank you for your post. It is too early to predict whether this is a long-term concern or not. Various changes occur along the road to recovery as the swelling resolves - sometimes asymmetry is apparent early on, sometimes later, sometimes it improves but usually some degree of asymmetry is normal after surgery - if you have any concerns at this stage, I'm sure your operating surgeon would be happy to review them. Good luck!

Answer: Post Op Rhinoplasty Hi Its a bit early but you do appear to have some asymmetry of the tip and the nostril. It appears to be minor but significant at this point but time will tell if it gets better, stays the same or worsens over time. At the 6 month mark you will have a better idea. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. I am sure you will see a path appear that you both agree on. Regardless it starts with patience.

Answer: Asymm At 6 weeks, it is still too early to make any final determination about your nose. Swelling is still very much present at 6 weeks, and swelling does not follow any rules, meaning that it does not occur symmetrically. Speak to your surgeon about your concerns. Sometimes, there are ways to reduce swelling, but this will be up to your surgeon's discretion.
