I developed seroma post TT. I was being drained every other day for 2.5 weeks. The last time i barely got any fluid aspirated so my PS said i was all good. A week later i started to notice my stomach was bigger (at night). I could feel a little bit of fluid but nothing compared to when i had seroma. I'm now 7 weeks post op and at night i still have a way BIGGER stomach than in the morning (which is usually flat). I can't really show this to my PS because of his office hours. But is this normal?

Answer: Seroma return? It is normal for the abdomen to grow larger during the day as you eat and drink. However, given the history of seroma, a return of fluid should be ruled out. You should contact your plastic surgeon and try to schedule a mutually convenient appointment for a followup visit.

Answer: Tummy Tuck Post-Operative Swelling I'm glad to hear your surgeon took good care of your seroma. It sounds like you have normal post-operative swelling. As your activity level increases you will notice your abdomen swell during the day while you are more active and resolve during the night while you sleep. You can expect this cycle to gradually resolve over weeks to months. I encourage you to make a follow up appointment with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your concerns. At that visit your surgeon can determine if you have a recurrent seroma. If you have no seroma your surgeon will reassure you that what you are experiencing is a normal part of the healing process.I hope this helps and best of luck.
