Thank you for your question. Most patients are advised to not drink alcohol until they have stopped the use of prescription pain medications. As far as swimming, I would recommend avoiding submerging your incisions in pools, hot tubs, and the ocean for at least 4 weeks after surgery. Hope this helps.
This is something you should ask your surgeon. For my patients, after six weeks they can return to all normal activities. Drinking should be avoided as long as a patient is on pain medication, and then drink responsibly. Your trip is planned far enough out that you should be fine for swimming as long as your incision is completely healed, again you should check with your surgeon. Good luck!
