I had an open rhinoplasty with septum cartilage a month ago, everything is fine except now I want the tip to be a little more projected. Can I use Resatylane injection on the tip of the nose? How long would it last? I've heard that Resatylane could last longer on noses that's been through rhinoplasty because it would develop scar tissues underneath so it never really goes away. Is this true?

Answer: Restylane after surgical rhinoplasty Hi,Thank you for your question.Nasal tip swelling usually takes 1 year to fully subside after surgical rhinoplasty. I would recommend waiting at least 1 year before considering fillers in the nose for the best cosmetic outcome. Additionally, keep in mind that the vascular anatomy may be different after rhinoplasty which can increase your risks for vessel occlusion, skin necrosis, and blindness. Please make sure to see an experienced injector for treatment of this area.Hope this helps!

Answer: Can Restylane injection be done on tip of the nose? Injecting a filler into the tip of the nose can be very tricky. I frequently do not recommend it as it can be an area where necrosis of the skin can occur. I would discuss your concern with the surgeon who performed your rhinoplasty. There are areas of the nose that sometimes can be injected with less risk.
