I have an Asian nose and wanted to know the best and safest way to increase tip projection, and increase nasal bridge (so when I wear sunglasses, it stays on the bridge). I have an idea of what I want my nose to look like but I still feel unsure if it can be done the way I picture it in my mind. I've had a few consults and I'm not convinced the doctors I went to understand what I want to achieve. I want to elevate the nasal bridge and want a strong refined tip including a projected Columella.

Answer: Asian rhinoplasty There are different ways, some advocate using an implant to both increase your nasal bridge and tip projection whereas other advocate using cartilage. My personal preference in Asian rhinoplasty is to use a rib graft for the bridge and dorsum, and a graft from the septum to build out the tip. A strong refined tip can be achieved in Asian rhinoplasty through the removal of some of the soft tissues of the nose, trimming of the cartilage that make up the tip, and finally sutures to enhance the shape of those aformentioned cartilages.
