Is it normal to be sore to the touch?

Question

I had my procedure a week ago and I have lots of pain to the touch. My laterals,lower stomach and lower back are the most sensitive. Is this normal? They hurt pretty bad and I'm a hypochondriac by nature so I'm worried

hello auniquecutie Pain and discomfort after liposuction varies according to patients, oral medication is given to control pain in the first few days. Discomfort is usually based on the extent to which the location and number of areas treated. Most swelling and bruising will heal in the first 2 weeks, but can persist for up to 6-8 weeks. Patients are usually instructed to wear elastic compression garments after the surgery, the period of time will be advised by the doctor. #post-op #normal

Most people experience soreness after SmartLipo. It tends to be worse in the first week and then gradually subsides. Pain tolerance varies among people, so some people may have more discomfort than others. As long as you don't have any fever or signs of infection (redness, warmth or foul smelling drainage) there is nothing to worry about.

What you are experiencing is completely normal and common after having liposuction. Some people experience more pain than others. Follow your surgeons after care instructions and if the pain gets worse or you are concerned contact your doctor.

Yes, it is perfectly normal and expected that you will have some pain and sensitivity after this procedure.  This will get better as you continue to heal. Continue to follow your surgeons instructions and contact him/her with any concerns. Best wishes.

however the best thing you can do is to be active, including exercising (after 5 days). you are not going to hurt anything by moderate exercising and you want to get off any narcotics as soon as you can. hang in there and it will get better.remember everyone experiences things differently, so just because you are more tender than someone else, does not mean you are crazy or a wimp. everyone's nerve endings are different.david berman md

Yes this is totally normal and very common after having a liposuction procedure. Some people have more sensitivity than others.
