Can multiple sessions of Coolsculpting remove 90 to 100 percentage of fat in the treated areas like liposuction for a lean guy like me with good physique & body fat % of 17 ? If not, then what's the maximum approximate percentage of fat it can remove after multiple sessions for me? (By multiple I mean till no more fat can be removed by Coolsculpting)

myanavarun Thank you for your question. An in person consultation is necessary to determine your best course of action. While treatments like coolsculpting and sculpsure can effectively reduce fat by 22 to 25 %, repeated procedures will never reach 90 to 100 %. Even with Liposuction we are not trying to remove 90 to 100 percent fat. Fat needs to be left behind so skin can move normally across muscle; for a normal appearance as well.

Theoretically, each CoolSculpting treatment session will destroy about 20-25% of the existing fat cells in the treated area.  So, with repeated treatments, more fat will be reduced.  In reality, you do not necessarily want to remove all of the fat because some fat is good.  I find that most people have between 1-3 treatment sessions to obtain their desired result, but I have done more in some patients.  There is no maximum number of treatments that can be performed.  Results can vary by individual as well.

No cool sculpting, and not even liposuction, will remove 90-100% of fat under the skin in my experience.  It also does not change your body fat % much, rather it helps you treat areas that are resistant to working out / dieting.  Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. CoolSculpting will never reach a 90-100% fat reduction in a given area.  It reduces 20-25% of subcutaneous fat in the area treated, and can typically be repeated to have 1-3 treatments usually at most, as with each treatment there will be less fat cells there to affect so the results are not as significant as after the first treatment.  Keep in mind also if there is a significant amount of fat to be reduced, some of that may be visceral fat, which surrounds our organs, and is not reduced with CoolSculpting.  Hope that helps!

First of all you never want to remove 100% of your fat.  You need fat for metabolic reasons and to cushion the skin against the muscle.  Having said that each time a coolsculpting procedure is performed it is anticipated that 20-25% of the fat will be destroyed.  As you get less fat the actual number of fat cells destroyed will be come less. You can do coolsculpting as many times as you want but the results will become less dramatic as the number of fat cells decline.
