Mesh implant was 6 years ago to fix hernia and healed well. The problem is the surgeon removed some fat on left side more than right. I've never been able to exercise it all off so both sides are even. I'm in great shape other than that. It bothers me one side of my abs is uneven with the other.

Answer: CoolSculpting after ventral hernia repair with mesh There is no problem in having CoolSculpting when you have had prior abdominal surgery, ventral hernia repair or mesh placement. If someone has an untreated hernia in an area of intended CoolSculpting, the hernia should be repaired first and CoolSculpting can be done after adequate time for healing.

Answer: Ventral Mesh & Coolsculpting Hello and thank you for your question. Ventral mesh used to repair a hernia is not usually contraindicative for CoolSculpting, particularly since this treatment is noninvasive. However, hernias that have not been treated should be repaired before you begin your CoolSculpting process. It is always best to check with both your primary care doctor and your plastic surgeon before undergoing any cosmetic treatment, however. CoolSculpting tends to work best on patients with isolated areas of fat they want to eliminate and good skin elasticity. If you have experienced some degree of skin laxity, you may need to combine CoolSculpting with a skin tightening treatment to achieve optimal results. We offer a variety of combinations for this purpose. Good luck to you in achieving your body contouring goals!
