How long should I wait between CoolSculpting?

Question

I had one treatment on my abdomen on May 25th and have been very happy with the results so far. However, I was considering a second treatment since the provider is currently having a special for 40% off. Is it too soon to get a second application on the same area? Will my results be better if I wait longer?

It is not too soon to begin your second application.  The earliest that it is recommended to retreat that same area is four weeks after your first session.   That being said, full results from Coolsculpting can take approximately 3-4 months to be seen and most individuals need at least 2 sessions.   If your provider has assessed you and recommended at least 2 rounds, then it would be a great idea to begin the next session so that you can see results even faster.

Good Afternoon, I'm super pleased to hear that you were able to see results after one treatment. Patient's who are seeking a more dramatic result to desired area are able to repeat treatment after four weeks if, you aren't experiencing any swelling or bruising. However, keep in mind you will not see the full results from your first procedure for at least three months. As a general rule, patients will not see the full results of their CoolSculpting treatment for about three months. It is often advisable to wait until that time to decide whether another treatment is necessary. However, you could move forward with a second treatment sooner, if your body is completely healed from the first session. A waiting period of two to four weeks is usually sufficient for that. Get an in-person assessment from your provider before undergoing the second treatment to be sure your body is ready. You don’t want to waste money by having a treatment too soon, if the area was going to improve spontaneously.

It can take up to 12 weeks to see the full effects from a CoolSculpting treatment, but I have performed a second treatment sooner than this time.  I would recommend waiting at least 6 weeks before having a second treatment to the same area.  Since your first treatment was May 25, I would not see a problem having a second treatment now.  The physician who treated you may feel differently, so I would also discuss this with your particular provider.

Usually we like to wait 2 to 3 months before proceeding with a second round to ensure that there is a decent response. However, if it is clear that you are responding, some practices will go ahead and treat with a second round, without waiting for 3 months. We recommend waiting at least four weeks between CoolSculpting sessions. CoolSculpting before this point will likely decrease the effectiveness of the treatment. If there is still broken down fat remaining in the area from the previous session, not as much fat elimination may be achieved during the second treatment. Due to the fact that the  body may dispose of broken down fat for up to three months, patients will see better CoolSculpting results the longer they wait between treatments. However, your CoolSculpting treatment timeline will depend on your body's response to the treatment and the needs of your schedule. If it has been at least four weeks since your first abdomen CoolSculpting, the spacing of your second CoolSculpting should be fine.
