Is CoolSculpting for the stomach area contraindicated for me?

Coolsculpting is one of the best non-surgical fat loss treatments, which works by freezing the fat cells, which are very susceptible to these low temperatures, and permanently killing these without affecting the skin or other organs. The body slowly removes these cells by natural mechanisms, and you lose about 20-25% fat from the area treated with a single treatment.  Rarely, you can get delayed onset nerve pain which can happen a few weeks after the treatment. Peripheral neuropathy, if it's limited only to the feet, would NOT be a contraindiction for getting coolsculpting for your abdomen, in general. However, it is best to get an in person consultation with a board certifed physician with experience in body sculpting. Hope that helps!

CoolSculpting is a fat reduction process that delivers controlled cooling to the treatment area to crystallize the unwanted fat cells so they can be eliminated by the body. This treatment is very safe for most individuals. However there are some contraindications for CoolSculpting that should be discussed with your doctor. While it is certainly possible you can safely undergo this treatment, make sure you work with a board-certified dermatologist who is well-versed on your full medical history. 

Thank you for your message. I would recommend clearance from  your monitoring provider prior to any CoolSculpting treatment. It is likely that abdominal CoolSculpting would not have any affect on the peripheral neuropathy in your feet, however a side effect is altered sensation to the area where the applicator is applied. I would also recommend a consultation with a provider who performs CoolSculpting so they can ensure you are a candidate for the procedure!
