Just wondering since the muscles inside the lip get cut open and pulled to close, will this affect how my upper lip look? Will the shape of the lip (at resting face) or shape of my smile change in anyway, except for the fact that gum will not sow anymore? Thanks.

Hello, thank you for your inquiry! In order to fix this issue, one procedure that is recommended to patients is a lip lift. A lip lift is a surgical procedure that shortens the space between the nose and top of the lip (philtrum). This is recommended for patients who want to add height instead...
Lips often heal this way. You can ask your doctor for a kenalog (steroid) injection. A small amount of steroid (less than 0.1 cc) should soften that area.
Typically problems like yours are related to breathing and tongue position.
Start treatment with an Oral Myofunctional Therapist who can then guide you to an educated airway dentist or orthodontist.
Do not let anyone amputate teeth but you can consider Epigenetic Orthopedics with a DNA Appliance.
