Having an IPL laser done! What post treatment lotions can I use?

Question

The therapist has suggested I buy a cream to follow the treatment but it costs $140 for 10ml Is there anything other I can use that you all could advice post treatment, like coconut oil, bio oil, coco butter anything that is cheaper than 140 bucks as I have contacted the retail direct who don't sell to customers & it should only be $80 but still that's 80 bucks I dont have! PLEASE ADVISE THANK YOUUUU

Thanks for your question. After care is really important following IPL treatments. You'll need a couple of products. I won't use any brand names because the brand is less important than what the intended effect is. You'll need a really good moisturizer. Your skin will feel like you've had a wind burn for a few days. Best to combat this with a really good quality moisturizer. Depending on what you use, you may already have some of this. You'll also need to use sunscreen and be diligent about it. Your skin will be sensitive to the sun during the healing process AND you wouldn't want to undo the benefit by getting new sun damage. I am not sure what you are having. With the IPL I use, there is no post treatment care needed 95% of the time as the machine is calibrated to emit a very specific wavelength that just attacks the red or brown without causing any other damage. I do, however, encourage everyone to use an 8-12% Zinc Oxide UVA blocking sunblock. This is something you need anyway whether you have the IPL or not to reduce sun damage and the need for future IPL treatments.
