How long does SculpSure last?

The device uses laser technology to permanently destroy up to 24% of subcutaneous fat, so the fat cells destroyed are permanently gone. The treatment combined with a good diet and exercise is the best combination to maintain your results. Gaining a significant amount of weight will increase the size of untreated fat cells, so those areas can grow again. 

SculpSure is FDA approved for non invasive and permanent reduction of fat cells in the treatment area.  As long as you keep the same weight, the results are permanent. Sculpsure is a noninvasive 1060nm diode laser treatment that removes up to 25% of stubborn fat in the treated area in 25 minutes.It is FDA approved for the abdomen and flanks. It is safe if you get pregnant in the future.

The body contouring effects are seen in as quick as six weeks with final results at 12 weeks.

The results are permanent as long as you maintain your weight and health.

The laser targets and destroys the fat cells only which are then naturally removed from the body. Since the laser does not affect the skin or muscle it can be used on all skin colors and there has been no reported incidents of burns when treated by a properly trained physician. It is protective since it alternates heating and cooling.

It has four applicators that can be customized to treat the areas of stubborn fat.

If a second treatment is needed we wait at least six weeks and usually closer to 12.

If you notice lumps after (which I've never seen) I would recommend massage. You should also alert your surgeon.  No compression garment required.

There is no downtime and you can resume your normal activities right after the treatment. There may be some soreness in the area for a few days for which you can take ibuprofen or tylenol. A cold compress can also be used.

Sculpsure is not used for skin tightening however some of our patients have seen this. If more skin tightening is needed we have combined this with thermi or Ulthera for a complete treatment. Sculpsure is recommended for stubborn areas of fat that are not being lost by diet and exercise. It is not a weight loss treatment

Even though these fat cells are gone, the remaining fat cells can enlarge if one gains weight. It is important to maintain one's diet and exercise to ensure the continued results.

As long as your weight is stable the results should be permanent. Sculpsure permanently removes a proportion of the treated fat cells and fat cells do not return. Best.

The SculpSure treatment kills 20-25% of the fat cells in the treated area and once a fat cell is killed, it will never regenerate. When those cells are gone, they do not come back. This means the treatment will last forever as long as it is maintained with a healthy diet and exercise. Because some fat cells will remain, it is possible to gain weight in the treated area if you don’t eat healthy and get regular exercise. The remaining fat cells could increase in size, diminishing the look of the SculpSure results. 

Even at your young age, once the fat cells are destroyed with Sculpsure, they do not return. It is important to seek out a Sculpsure expert to discuss risks and benefits. You may need 2-3 treatments. It is also important to maintain the same body weight, since if you get heavier the fat in other areas will enlarge. 

As your body metabolizes the eliminated fat cells, fat reduction may be noticeable in as few as six weeks after one treatment. Clinical data from Cynosure, the creator of SculpSure, shows that on average, one session results in a 24% destruction  of fat in the treated area. Full results are normally seen 12 weeks after the initial treatment. Because the cells eliminated during the procedure are destroyed with the laser, these cells won’t regenerate making your result permanent so long as your weight is the same. Desired fat reduction should be maintained through healthy diet and exercise.People who are best suited for SculpSure have a body mass index of 30 or less.
