It typically takes 12 weeks to see the full results of the SculpSure treatment. The flanks are a good area to treat and typically take 2 applicators on each side for best results. It is normal that you did not experience any side effects, as there should be no discomfort or irritation after the procedure. For many patients, a second treatment is necessary to get the desired results. 

The Sculpsure procedure takes 25 minutes with no downtime opposed to 60 minutes for CoolSculpting with at least a month of recovery time. The CoolSculpting procedure also requires at least an inch of “suction-able” fat for the treatment to be safe and effective. I suggest consulting with your doctor about the best option for you. 

SculpSure is intended to be a body contouring procedure and recommended treatment areas include the upper and lower abdomen, left and right love handle, inner and outer thigh, arms, and back. Consult with your doctor before using SculpSure on your ankles. 

Patients with a history of HIV may require additional evaluation before proceeding with SculpSure. It is likely the SculpSure laser is safe to use with HIV positive patients, however I recommend consulting with your doctor before getting the treatment. 

The SculpSure treatment kills 20-25% of the fat cells in the treated area and once a fat cell is killed, it will never regenerate. When those cells are gone, they do not come back. This means the treatment will last forever as long as it is maintained with a healthy diet and exercise. Because some fat cells will remain, it is possible to gain weight in the treated area if you don’t eat healthy and get regular exercise. The remaining fat cells could increase in size, diminishing the look of the SculpSure results.
