QUESTIONS ANSWERED

I had my second treatment of SculpSure two weeks ago. I haven't seen no difference.

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question. I think first it is important to realize that not only are your final results seen after 12 weeks, but to also remember that you see your own body every single day. Slight or subtle improvements are much harder to see, however in my practice, when we have patients return for their 12 week post procedure pictures, lots of people do not see the change in their own body.. ..that is until we show them the mirrored image of the before and after pictures. My suggestion is that you be sure to go to your follow up appointment to see the before and after pictures side by side. Be patient and good luck!

How long does SculpSure last?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

As your body metabolizes the eliminated fat cells, fat reduction may be noticeable in as few as six weeks after one treatment. Clinical data from Cynosure, the creator of SculpSure, shows that on average, one session results in a 24% destruction  of fat in the treated area. Full results are normally seen 12 weeks after the initial treatment. Because the cells eliminated during the procedure are destroyed with the laser, these cells won’t regenerate making your result permanent so long as your weight is the same. Desired fat reduction should be maintained through healthy diet and exercise.People who are best suited for SculpSure have a body mass index of 30 or less. SculpSure is not intended as a weight loss option. SculpSure is usually not the best treatment option for people with obesity. Thank you for your question and good luck!

Is it normal for nodules to form more on one side than the other? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question!! Nodules can be a normal side effect after receiving a SculpSure treatment; they are eliminated with time. Continue to gently massage the area 5-10 minutes three to four times per day.  Increasing your water intake as well is quite helpful in aiding the body's lymphatic system to break down and eliminate these dead fat cells. It is not uncommon to have nodules even at the 12 week mark. If you are still concerned, you may also make a follow-up appointment to be examined by who performed your Sculpsure treatment. Best of luck!

If a person knows SculpSure is not the best procedure but would love a minimal result why not? I live in NC.

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question!! To answer your question, at our practice, during an initial Sculpsure evaluation, we would discuss the BMI requirement which is 30 or below, however, if a patient chooses to proceed after having been informed, then as long as there are no visible scars in the treatment area, we can proceed. Patient expectations should be evaluated and discussed. Good luck in your continued journey.

Is it safe to use SculpSure laser with HIV positive patients?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question! Sculpsure is FDA approved for body contouring, it is completely non invasive and lies flat on the surface of your skin and therefore would be ideal for anyone who meets the criteria for treatment. Research states that it does not interfere with medications used to treat HIV. Sculpsure is a fast and fantastic way to shape your body into one you are proud to show off. Good luck!!

Sculpsure now have lumps?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question, nodules under the skin  are not uncommon after SculpSure.  I recommend gently massaging  the areas for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times/day and they should eventually resolve, and if they do not, I suggest scheduling a follow up with the physician's office who performed the treatment.  Best of luck!!

Can an area look more fat after a 2nd SculpSure treatment at the 6 wks mark if exercise and diet are maintained as always?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question, I have not seen this with any of our patients using SculpSure.  I would recommend following up again with your provider to view your before and after photos to properly assess.  It is not unusual to hear some patients complain of worsening or no change with body contouring treatments, however those patients have typically had an increase in their weight from the initial treatment date to the end of the 12 weeks, when they return for after photos. I hope this was helpful, and I wish you the best of luck!!

My results after two SculpSure treatments. Am I going to see more results? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question. You may not see results instantly. After treatment, the damaged fat cells are absorbed by the body over time. It usually takes at least six weeks to see results, and optimal results are usually seen at twelve weeks but can be seen as far out as 16 weeks!! Good luck, looking good so far.

Which laser is better for treatment of vaginal atrophy/dryness in a breast cancer patient who cannot us HRT?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

As we all know, there are many physical hurdles women with breast cancer must overcome.  A lesser-known effect of chemotherapy and/or breast cancer hormonal therapy is Vulvo-Vaginal Atrophy, or VVA.  This is the thinning, drying and inflammation of the vaginal walls due to a decrease in estrogen.  This condition can cause many unpleasant symptoms, and often leads to a lower or inactive sex drive.  It may seem that sex drive and vaginal irritation would be the least of a breast cancer survivor’s concerns, but in actuality, a healthy sex life is an important part of reclaiming the fulfilling life she led prior to her diagnosis.

At Biosymmetry  we are pleased to offer our patients a non-surgical, non-hormonal technology that is ideal for breast cancer survivors who are often unable to receive conventional treatments for the debilitating symptoms of VVA.  The MonaLisa Touch  is a medical laser that revitalizes the cells in the vaginal mucosa (vaginal tissue) so that they make more collagen, an essential ingredient in vaginal cell health that can help women recover from genital atrophy and enjoy complete relief from symptoms they suffer from every day with a series of three treatments, spaced a minimum of 6 weeks apart to allow for proper healing in between.

I hope this answers your question, and I wish you the best of luck in your journey.

How long to wait for sculpsure after you've had coolsculpting?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Great Question!! The amount of time in between the two does depend on whether or not you plan to treat the same area or a different one. When treating the same area, it is recommended that you wait a minimum of 6 weeks to allow proper healing time. However, if you are treating a separate area, there is no need to wait.

Amazing Transformation - Wilmington, NC

I came to Biosymmetry back in April of 2016 seeking help with weight gain, nutrition and reasons for feeling so sluggish. It has been an incredible journey. To date, I have now lost 39 lbs, eat healthier and feel better than I have ever felt. I had the opportunity to try the sculpsure for my abdomen and wow...what a difference it has made. It was such an easy pain free process. Dr. Pate and his staff are an absolute joy to see each month too. Very friendly, upbeat and give me so much encouragement. I can not thank them enough for my results and I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Pate and Biosymmetry.

52 Year Old Mother of Three Teenage Children - Menopause Body Nightmare - Wilmington, NC

I am a 52 year old mother of 3 teenage children. I have always lived a healthy lifestyle and maintained a decent weight but menopausal weight gain was beginning to creep up on me. After a full hysterectomy in December, my body went into a menopausal freefall when my midsection exploded. I tried in vain to mitigate the disaster happening before my very eyes but nothing helped no matter how much exercise I got or how little I ate. I crept from a size 8 to a size 12 in the span of less than a year even though I ate ½ as much as before, switched to a fully vegetarian diet, and exercised 3 times as much. My body image had never been so low. How can I be a mother of 2 teenage girls and not love her body or feel good about herself? I had to take action! I researched my options and first considered CoolSculpting but read review after review of less than satisfied customers who time and again talked about the excruciating pain 7 days after treatment. Having had 2 serious surgeries in the last 9 months, I was not interested in anything that induced that much pain. That’s when I read about SculpSure. The process takes less than half the time with little to no pain or side effects related to the treatment. I went to Dr. Chris Pate at BioSymmetry in Wilmington, NC where I met with Deb, the nurse technician, who educated me on the science behind the treatment and the process involved. I made an appointment for that very day! Deb and I determined that we would take an aggressive approach attacking four areas that day; upper abs, lower abs, flanks, & bra line. The treatment took 25 minutes for each area and while painful at times (used the second to highest setting), it was not unbearable. I left able to continue on with my day with little discomfort but took an ibuprophen to reduce any inflammation and drank lots of water. To be honest, I did experience some bruising and swelling after a few days and was a bit sore but nothing that ibuprophen couldn’t alleviate. After 2-3 weeks I began to notice a difference and continued to notice a difference as the weeks went by. Yesterday I went back to Dr. Pate’s office and met with Deb for my 12 week “reveal.” I am thrilled to report that I have lost 4 inches around my midsection, dropped 4lbs, and am back into a size 8! I have never felt better about myself and my body image! The difference that this treatment made was honestly life changing! I can confidently and proudly walk down a street and know that I’ve turned a head or two and at 52, that feels really good! Thanks everyone at BioSymmetry! It was the best thing that I have ever done for myself !

Sculpsure Successful - Wilmington, NC

I won the sculpsure procedure off of a radio contest. The procedure lasted only 25 mins, which flew by very quickly due to the staff member conversating with you. I did not experience any pain and was very comfortable during the whole procedure. I am very satisfied with my results and can tell a big difference in my lower abdomen area.

Sculpsure Review - Wilmington, NC

I was very pleased with the service and knowledge I received from staff member, Shena, she is great. The procedure itself was easy, basically painless, and quick. I just had my second treatment done on my outer thighs so we'll see how that goes in about 7 weeks. My first treatment was on my banana roll and although I didn't achieve the results i was expecting or hoping for I did see some improvement. I think the only draw back might be that more than likely you may need more than one treatment and can than run into cost issues. Everyone's body is different and everyone will respond differently but for me I wasn't pleased with just 1 treatment so Im trying one more time. Shena was very accomodating to my schedule and was more than willing to meet me after hours to do the procedure since my hours are the same as the office hours......that means alot to us people who have to work for a living. LOL! Overall, the facility is great, the people were great, and the procedure is easy with no down time.............sounds like a win, win!

Brad Bauer- 63 Male- Working on Abdomen Fat - Wilmington, NC

Attended an info seminar at Biosymmetry with real live demo of Sculpsure. Since they had a special pricing on, at seminar, I decided to give it a try to work on my belly fat. Did the procedure earlier today. It was pretty much as described. Sensations were a period of cooling followed by increasing heat. So, it would cycle about every 10-15 seconds from a cooling sensation followed by 10-15 seconds of heat. About half way through the 25 minute treatment the intensity started to feel more like a burning sensation. But, it would only peak to an intolerable level for just a few seconds and then it would back off and repeat the process. All in all it was tolerable, but when the 25 minutes were up I was definitely ready to get those laser panels unhooked from my belly. If this kills 24% of those fat cells, then I will definately consider it worthwhile. We'll find out after the next 6 to 12 weeks as that's how long it takes for the dead fat cells to disappate.

39 Year Old. Upper and Lower Abs - Wilmington, NC

Had upper and lower abs done. Each take about 25 min. I have no results to show just yet, just had procedure today!! I will keep updating tho! With the lower abs, I had 4 plates placed across, it was a fluctuation of cool and hot, at one point it felt like cramps then early on contractions, slight stinging, etc. With the upper abs, same as lower, 4 plates across. The two outer plates were a bit more intense than the 2 inside so, Shena was able to turn the intensity down a bit for those ( still receiving the same benefit). After the procedure my stomach was cold to the touch and felt no pain at all. I was able to go exercise directly after with no pain. Was told I may feel like I've done a bunch of sit ups in the next couple days, no problems with that :)! I'm so happy and excited to see my results! This also gives me more of an incentive to keep on my workout schedule and healthier eating habits! Updated on 28 May 2016: These are a few before pics I took before sculpture procedure. Update.... I had procedure around 10am. That same day around 1pm, felt like u was having muscle contractions. Was not unbearable, but a bit uncomfortable. Stomach was pillowy feeling also. I was prepared as Shena gave me the rundown of what to possibly expect. :))

Too Much Pain for the Gain - Goldsboro, NC

I realize I may not represent the average patient, but wow that really hurt! I knew going into the procedure that I didn't have a great tolerance for pain which is why I always stayed away from the invasive procedures like liposuction. I had read the average pain level for a Sulpsure patient was 3.7 out of a scale of 10. It felt more like a 7! I had to have them turn the machine down which now has me worried I won't see much effect to my waist. It has only been a couple of weeks. I will be happy if I see some difference but I won't be getting this procedure done again.

Love Sculpsure

I had a wonderful experience getting Sculpsure at Biosymmetry in Wilmington NC with Dr. Pate. It only took around 30 mins and was practically painless. And I was left with no redness, no swelling, and no bruising. I’ve done it twice now because I was so satisfied with my results. I highly recommend it!
