Would I be a good candidate for either spirolactone or Accutane? Age 62.

I am a female, 62 years of age. Since age 11 I have had EXTREMELY oily skin on my face and neck. I have blackheads and pimples on all of my face, not just the T-zone and it is really very frustrating and uncomfortable-I have been using retin a gel for years, and it helps a little. I also use metrogel on my nose for rosacea-HELP!!!

Yes you can. The exception to this rule is that you should not be taking Vitamin A 5000 IU and above. This is because Oratane or Isotretinoin contains vitamin A, the rest, all good. Dr Isobel Walker. Brisbane. Fiori.

Accutane (Isotretinoin) is a medicine used for severe cystic acne. As the medication begins to work it will reduce the appearance of oil glands. It also reduces cell shedding and the stickiness of the cells in the follicles. So you may be seeing a bumpy rash break out of black heads being shed....
