My side profile is unbalanced because of my pointy and protruding chin. Is it possible to reduce the protruding bulge of my chin with liposuction? What procedure would I need to to fix this issue? Thanks for your input.
Answer: Chin procedure Thank you for your question. An in-person evaluation would be necessary to determine exactly what is causing the pointy appearance of your chin. If it is simply the placement of your tissue, a dermal filler may help give it a rounder appearance. Dermal fillers last anywhere from 6 to 24 months depending on what type of filler is administered. Although this is a temporary solution, many patients choose this option to avoid the invasiveness of a surgical procedure such as a chin implant surgery. I recommend visiting a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation to determine your best treatment option. Best of luck with your procedure!

Answer: How To Fix Protruding Chin Thank you for the detailed question and corresponding photos. Unfortunately, without a physical exam it is impossible to tell what procedure you need. If you do not like the fat underneath your chin then it is possible to remove it with liposuction or an injectable called Kybella. However if your concern is more the sharpness of your chin, then you may need a chin reduction surgery to help round and smooth the chin down. Either way, I recommend seeing a board-certified plastic surgeon in-person to discuss your concerns and come up with the right treatment plan for you. For more information please visit our webpage.

Answer: Protruding chin Sometimes that can be helped with Botox injections if it is soft tissue, but manytimes the bone needs to be shaved through a small incision under the chin. See a surgeon for a consultation if you are interested in finding out your best option!

Answer: Probably not of course feeling your chin would answer this question but I suspect what you have is a strong bony chin. This can only be fixed by filing down the bone. This is not as big a deal as it sounds but is surgery. Ask a local PS what they think as only by feeling your chin can anyone really know what advice to give you. Hope that helps. Adam Goodwin
