Hi, I wanted to show a different pic of my pecs, the upper chest is missing after gyno surgery. In the pics I think you can see the chest is concave. Is it possible to rebuild the chest by working out. Or is fat injections and implants the only way to fix this? Is either a better solution?
Answer: Chest Concavity after Gynecomastia Surgery Thanks for posting your photos. There does appear to be a concavity which likely results from oversuctioning of that area. The ability to contour the chest to create a smooth appearance is just as important as the adequate removal of the glandular tissue. Experienced plastic surgeons know that what is important isn't so much of how much tissue was removed, but rather, the tissue which is left behind which leads to a smooth, contoured chest. Fat injections would be a much better option over implants. However, it is possible to target that area of your pectoral muscles with strength exercises which may improve the contour. My advice is to seek out an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon who is affiliated with the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).

Answer: Gynecomastia Issues Stan. Sorry you are having this problem, and physical exam would be helpful. I would first try building up your chest muscles with weight training, possibly consulting with a personal trainer once or twice to show you best work out options to build up your pectoralis muscles. If this is ineffective, fat grafting is an excellent option. Be certain to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck.

Answer: Contour depressed after gynecomastia resection The concavity you are showing is related to the glandular resection and is commonly seen after gynecomastia surgery. Fat grafting is an excellent option for correcting this. Seek consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon who is experienced in fat transfer. Expect that you may lose some volume in the first several weeks after the fat transfer, but this technique has been effective in correcting volume deficits in contours of face, breast, and other body regions.

Answer: Chest Concavity after Gynecomastia Correction Hi thisisstan212,It is very difficult to give you precise information without examining you in person. Based on the limited information I can get from the photos, you may actually benefit from more liposuction in the area above the concavity. This would actually be the most straightforward way to address this. Fat injection and implants are more complicated and the results less predictable. Speak with an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon who does this regularly for a good opinion in person. Good luck!Dr. Parham Ganchi - Wayne, NJ Plastic SurgeonPrinceton ~ Harvard ~ Duke
