Hello! I had my first Botox treatment 2 weeks ago. I have two lumps above me eyebrows. I also notice my brows are straight. I used to have a beautiful arch. Are the bumps normal? Will my brow arch come back?

Answer: Botox Bumps Laurenliz, Sorry to hear about the bumps and loss of arch. The loss of arch is due to the Botox relaxing portions of the muscle that pull up on the brow. This occurs depending on the location of were the Botox was placed (usually forehead or dissemination of Botox into the lateral brow.) The arch will return once the muscle starts to regain activity. Bumps after Botox placement could be due to a variety of things such as inflammatory changes from the injection, small resolving hematoma, and muscle contraction, to name a few. It is hard to say what the cause is without a picture; therefore, an evaluation by your injector is recommended. Hope this helps!Dr DoshiNew York City

Answer: Botox trouble I hope your treatment with botox was received from someone like a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist and if that is the case I would definitely recommend that you give them a follow-up visit. A good set of photographs would have been much more helpful. Most likely the bumps that you see in the forehead are from the muscles contraction where no Botox was injected. The good news from all of this is that your arch will come back, but it may take a few months until the muscle strength returns to your forehead completely. Good luck from New York City
