Is it possible to break your own nose by pressing on the thin edge part of the bone with your finger?

I inadvertently pressed really hard and am wondering if i could have fractured it since the tip of the bone is said to be thin. It was red where i was pressing..but no swelling occured. How much force is required to break it?

I think it would be difficult to break your own nose in the manner you describe. Typically, it requires more force than that. Obtain a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area for an evaluation.

It is difficult to say whether you have fractured your own nose- but enough force will do it.  It would be best to see a physician for an examination of your nose.  In the meanwhile, you might want to stop pressing your nose so hard.
