Can the BBL be performed on an mtf trans person? I desire a curvier shape and I want to go the safest route possible and not get silicone injections. Based on my photos would I be fit for this procedure? I am 5'6 and 145 pounds.
Answer: Brazilian Butt lift for an MTF transgender patient? This is very common in my practice. Sometimes fat transfer is enough. Sometimes patients want a butt implant as well.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Enhancing Curves Safely: BBL in MTF Transgender Individuals The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)can also be performed on MTF (male-to-female) transgender individuals to enhance the curves and achieve a more feminine figure. Based on your height and weight, a BBL could potentially be an option for you. However, a comprehensive evaluation is necessary to determine your candidacy for the procedure. During the consultation, the surgeon will assess your overall health, body proportions, and specific aesthetic goals to determine if a BBL is appropriate for you. Keep in mind that personalized advice from a qualified surgeon is essential for making informed decisions about any surgical procedure. It's important to note that silicone injections for body contouring are not recommended and can pose serious health risks. Unregulated and non-medical silicone injections can lead to complications such as infection, migration of silicone to other parts of the body, scarring, and even life-threatening conditions.

Answer: BBL in MTF With the shape that you have, you are a good candidate for BBL. From the picture, it depends on how large you want your butt to be. If you want it to be significant, fat injection would not be enough; you may need buttock implants with fat injection, but your fat will be enough to get a nice curve if the size is not the issue.

Answer: BBL If you have fat, then a BBl can be performed. If not, buttock augmentation with implants is possible. Best of luck!

Answer: Safety first! Thank you for your question. I would strongly recommend and urge you to please NOT get silicone injections for buttock augmentation. People can have serious complications from that procedure and it is something that most board certified plastic surgeons would not recommend. Often silicone and oil and other injections are not done under safe and sterile conditions leading to very bad infections and serious and possibly life threatening complications. To answer your questions though, yes, BBLs can certainly be performed on transgender patients if they are otherwise good candidates for the procedure. As you may know BBLs involve liposuction, purification, and transfer of the fat from one area (typically the abdomen, waist, etc...) to the buttocks. It is hard to tell from your photos but you may be a good candidate. Please see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your options in person. I hope this helps!
