Thank you for sharing your excellent question. There are many long-held beliefs about activity restriction after Botox, but there is no reason to avoid bending forward. Botox gets rapidly absorbed by your tissues and is injected in such a concentration that it does not diffuse much once injected. I restrict patients from exercise for several hours after injection but only to avoid bruising and swelling to the treated areas. Hope this helps.
Thanks for this question. Heat exposure, bending and laying down are common activities which are to be avoided after Botox or Dysport injection for fear of the product migrating. Usually 24 hours, but laying down about 4 to 6 hours. Best, Dr. ALDO
There are no restrictions after botox treatments in my opinion. I suggest talking to your physician if you are concerned. Best, Dr. Emer.
There is a lot of dogma in recommendations for activity after Botox injections. The answer is you can really do anything after the injections. The only caution I typically recommend is to limit vigorous activity for about an hour to help decrease any risk of bruising, especially around the eyes.
Thank you for question. It is okay to bend forward after injection. The restrictions I tell my patients is to not lie down, rub or massage the treated area for 4 hours after injection. I also recommend to not exercise for 24 hours after treatment. This is to avoid the Botox from spreading into unwanted areas.
Thank you for your question. I recommend that my patients avoid bending, heavy lifting and strenuous activities such as going to the gym for 24 hours after treatment with Botox. Please be sure to see an expert injector for an in-person consultation to receive specific recommendations. Hope this helps and best wishes!
Each injector will have his or her guidelines post treatment. Generally, a limited amount of bending forward is okay. More strenuous activity should be limited for the first 24 hours. Consult your injector as he or she knows the scope about you and the specifics of the treatment.
Bending forward may increase blood circulation to the face and increase the risk that Botox will be taken away from the injection areas before it gets absorbed into the neuromuscular junctions. This may lead to dilution of the Botox or shifting of the Botox to undesirable locations. However, this risk is only theoretical.
It's common to have people restrict their activities for at least 24 hours after Botox injection. This includes avoiding bending down/lowering the head, exposure to heat, exercise, etc. We also tend to recommend that clients stay upright for a few hours and avoid any heat exposure (ie. jacuzzis, hot showers, etc) for at least 24 hours.
