Interesting, as most of my patients say that botox decreases their oil production on the face as it also decreases sweating. I suggest speaking to your physician if you are concerned or getting laser and peel treatments. Silk peels/hydrafacials help facial oil. Best, Dr. Emer.
Botox is a neuromodulator which helps to relax the muscle it is injected in and stimulate the opposing muscle. In the forehead, Botox helps to relax the central frontalis muscle and in turn smooths the skin. Botox should not have any effect on the skin's oil production, but it may have a "glassy" smooth effect on the forehead. This will likely dissipate.
Botox is used to decrease sweating and oil production therefore it is unlikely that your increased oil production is connected to your Botox injection. I would suggest you to make an appointment to determine the cause of the increased oil production. Good luck!
Botox should have no effect on production of oil. It may be that your skin looks shinier because it is smoother, but if you think it is too oily, consult a board certified dermatologist

Botox should not have any relationship to you producing oils on your skin. I would consult a board certified dermatologist to see why your skin type has changed. Best, Dr. Green

Thank you for your question. It is not a good idea to treat the forehead without treating the glabellar area. This can cause the frontalis muscle to paralyze and the depressor muscles to remain active leaving the patient with a strong look in the glabellar region. I would listen to your injector...
