Hello! Thank you for your question! The recommendations for the use of these homeopathic medications are surgeon preference. I typically suggest use Arnica to decrease swelling and bruising. It is an herbal medication that is propagated from the seeds of an herb. I, as well as my patients, have seen some benefit with the treatment in the postoperative period. Although there is little evidence to its effectiveness, I believe there is some benefit, but no harm. I recommend 4-5 tablets under the tongue 4x/day for 3-5 days prior and 5-7 days after the procedure. Probably not much effect at two weeks. I would ask your surgeon if the cream firm may be applied to the area. Hope that this helps! Best wishes!
Arnica is good for immediate post surgical bruising and swelling. Two weeks after rhinoplasty, you may have some improvement perhaps not as much as if you had started earlier. Certainly it is well tolerated.
Arnica is a natural supplement, cream or gel that reduces inflammation and bruising. I generally recommend taking this prior to surgery in order to suppress a large inflammatory response. Using Arnica will not hurt you in the short term (use for 5 days); however, the reduction in swelling may be negligible two weeks after surgery. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon, as he/she likely will have a specific postoperative regimen. Best wishes!
