Is it possible to have my nose shortened?

Shortening the nose with rhinoplasty is very simple to achieve yet surprisingly many surgeons fail to do this. In fact it’s one of the most common reasons for revision. It requires shortening the lower edge of the septal cartilage and nasal lining. This used to be a standard move in closed rhinoplasty but forgotten when many surgeons switched to open rhinoplasty.

Shortening the nose is almost always possible. There are anatomic limits and aesthetic limits to how much a nose can be shortened.  A rhinoplasty to shorten the nose can be done. This is quite often the case and should be no problem for an experienced  rhinoplasty surgeon. Look for an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who does very natural noses.
