2 days post-op. Can an alar base reduction be done without external scars?

Hi,Alar base reduction always requires external sutures. It is usually the very last step in a rhinoplasty surgery and there are instances where as the nose is projected, it appears less wide and alar base reduction is not needed. No matter what happens, you can always have an alar base reduction performed in the office under local anesthesia. Best,

Alar base reduction can involve an alar wedge excision and / or a nostril sill excision. Both techniques require suturing or other type of closure. Some suturing techniques do not involve external placement (subcuticular). Some may use tissue glue. 
You should discuss this with your plastic surgeon at your next postoperative visit.
