I'm 18 y/o. I wear a size 36 DD. My left breast is about a cup size larger than my right (one is about a DD the other a D) . I'm unsure if i should get surgery or wait and see if they even out. What should I do?
Answer: You can wait if you'd like Asymmetry is the norm for women, since no two breasts are ever alike, however if you find this embarrassing and it's taking a toll on your self esteem, then you can consider a reduction in the larger one or an implant in the smaller one to balance them out. However, keep in mind that your breasts continue to develop throughout your life, and you may experience noticeable changes until about 19-20 years old.

Answer: Uneven Breasts: Surgery Needed It is unlikely that the size difference will "even out" over time. Having said that the size difference you show is pretty common. Most women do not have surgery for that. You would need to be very motivated to decide on surgery. And you would have to be ready to accept that you will have scars on your breasts in order to reduce the larger breast and lift the smaller breast. You would want to be sure that the scars would not bother more than the difference in size.Best of luck!

Answer: Uneven breast Hello, it is very unlikely that they will even out over time. Asymmetry is very common. There are a few options to correct the size discrepancy including reducing the size of the right breast alone, enlarging the left breast alone, or reducing the size of both breast. I would recommend thinking about the what size and appearance you would like your breast to have...and that will help guide you in your decision for what type of procedure to undergo. Thanks

Answer: Uneven breasts Asymmetry is very common and only occasionally requires correction. In your case a modest reduction of the larger breast would probably make you more comfortable, but you should never expect identical breasts. All surgeons have different criteria regarding what age is appropriate for this type of surgery. Waiting never hurts.

Answer: Breast asymmetry at 18 years of age. Thank you for your question and photo. The breast asymmetry which you have is very very common and many women. No woman has perfectly symmetrical breasts.Based on your photograph I do not think your asymmetry is severe. However if it bothers you after you reach 21 you can consider a plastic surgery procedure to make your breasts more symmetrical. However this will involve visible scarring.Another option would be to wait until you're finished having children to see how the final appearance of your breast takes shape. That would be a more appropriate time to consider any surgical procedure. For more information on correcting breast asymmetry please read the following link:
